Every fact on this site names its source, right beside it, so you can judge it yourself.

The sources, strongest first

Bench: measured on a camera we own, with the date. Manual: read from the maker's own manual by a person. Maker: the maker's spec page or press release, quoted. Manual, machine-read: pulled from the manual by software and not yet checked by a person. Buyers guide: the Sony Handycam complete buyers guide, a community spreadsheet. Unchecked: we hold it but have no source yet.

When two sources disagree, the stronger one wins, and we keep checking the rest against the manuals.

Who checks
